What varieties of honey do you have?
Our honey harvest fluctuates each year depending on where our bees are pollinating. Our current 2024 varieties include clover, raspberry, and wildflower. All of our honey is collected by bees from Oregon farms and harvested at our facility in Damascus, Oregon.
Is your honey Organic/natural?
Our honey is raw, natural, unfiltered, and never heated above 40°C (104°F). We extract all of our honey in our facility in Damascus, Oregon. We do not add anything extra to our honey (like corn syrup). We are not certified organic but that is because we cannot control where honeybees will fly. We do have contracts with farmers that prevent them from spraying any pesticides while our honeybees are pollinating. We recommend stopping by in the summer if you’d like to get a glimpse behind the scenes.
What to do with crystalized honey?
Honey is a food that never expires, but it can crystalize. Crystallization occurs over time and due to cold temperatures. It doesn’t mean that the honey is bad, but rather that it is a high-quality product. Honey that never crystalizes is usually a sign that it was overheated or overprocessed and has lost its health benefits. You can still enjoy crystalized honey, but if you prefer a smooth and glossy texture over grainy and chewy, you can easily decrystallize your honey. Simply put your honey in a waterproof glass container and put it in a warm water bath. We do not recommend microwaving your honey as it will overheat.
Do you sell in bulk?
We provide wholesale prices for large orders of honey, propolis, and beeswax. Feel free to contact us with your specific order to get a price estimate.
Do you Sell honeybees?
Yes, we sell nuc boxes with 5-frames of Italian honeybees including a brood and a queen bee. The cost is $150 for the whole box. Please contact us ahead of time to place your order and set up a pick-up time. We start selling nucs at the end of April.
can you come pickup the honeybee swarm from my yard?
We have limited time and employees, so at this time we are unable to provide this service. Often a honeybee swarm will leave on its own and not linger too often in a tree. They are just temporarily there while scout bees are trying to find a permanent home for the hive. If you’d like it removed, we recommend posting on your local Craigslist, on the NextDoor app, or on a local Facebook page. Hobby beekeepers are often more than happy to come collect a swarm. Please do not spray the honeybees with any pest control/bug sprays. If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you.
